Why the holiday season is the best time to invest in yourself

If you're like most of the world, you've been trapped in your house for the duration of 2020.

If you have children you've had to act as a parent, teacher, and in some cases full-time employee, all at the same time.

If you're an essential worker you've had to deal with the emotional & physical stress of being on the front lines every day, risking your health & life to serve others.

For everyone else this year has been isolating, depressing, and scary. Most of us have not been taking care of ourselves, emotionally, and physically.

On top of this, the end of the year adds an extra layer of stress even without a global pandemic. October through December is full of holiday parties, get-togethers, schedules turned upside down, delicious & rich food. After all this indulgence there is an insane amount of pressure to then set wellness/weight/fitness goals for the new year. Often these goals are coming from a place of self-loathing.

If you don’t feel good about yourself, are a chronic dieter or binge eater, this time of year can be terribly anxiety-inducing.

It seems impossible to stick to any kind of moderation plan. You give up, eat all the rich and delicious foods you can get your hands on, skip your workouts, feel sluggish and uncomfortable, and don’t even truly ENJOY the season because you’re mentally beating yourself up. This is often accompanied by increased family time (which inevitably leads to stress) which is often unwanted and unnecessary comments about appearance or food habits from your relatives.

Sound familiar?

What if I told you there was a different way?

Contrary to popular belief. now is the perfect time to begin working on your wellness goals. With the right guidance, inner work & foundational knowledge of what works for your body, you can enjoy yourself through this holiday season without indulging in a crazy binge & deprivation cycle. You can look and feel your best without restricting yourself to carrot sticks at your office holiday part.

The holidays are when all of our "stuff" comes up, which is what makes it the perfect time to create a balanced wellness plan that allows you to create space in your schedule for your mental health, as well as your physical health. You don't need to suffer through the holiday season to look and feel the way you want to. All you need is gentle & compassionate guidance.
